I don't have experience with the 6% bulbs. I would get a meter and check it. That is the only way to be certain.

I saw you mention in a post about Geoclemys Hamiltonii and was wondering if you still have connections to someone that has these that they are selling within CA of course.

    Thank you,

Thank you really looking for a male to go with a female my friend has.
Hi Tom, I am very new to tortoise raising and have adopted a Sulcata that was going to be left. She is awesome and I have gotten some great info from your posts. (especially the food one) I am going to make a new home for her and I am trying to figure out what soil to use for it. I would like to plant some of the foods you mention all the time (the flowers and grass) but I am not sure what would be both.

    Hi Tom
I'm in a similar climate. Near Morocco, Tenerife. I put details re humidity, hours of sun etc. I have a Russian, 1 now after advice from the forum. Need help re keeping her outside I read your articles. Plants, hibernation etc. I'm in a desert so was going to use soil and gravel Sand stone. Not the wood/bark I want to hose it clean. I'm interested in your views. You were especially recommended. Bye 4 now. M

Hello Tom, I have read nothing but good things about your torts and the methods you use to raise them. I am looking for my second sulcata but want to make sure it comes from a reputable breeder. Do you have any available, or can recommend me to a good breede? I live in TX, DFW area.
Could one replace calcium powder with cuttlefish bone? Also if it's windy but around 25 Celsius can my 1 yr old Leopard be kept outside? Recently built an outdoor enclosure. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello and welcome. If its dry, sunny and 25C, your leopard should be fine for some outside time during the warmer part of the day. It helps to have an infrared thermometer to check surface temps of the ground and your tortoise's carapace.

Ok thank you . Awesome to be here.
Help!! I have a baby sulcata about 4 mos old. Her eyes are constantly closed unless we are soaking her. For a week now she has stopped eating has less energy. We were feeding her spring mix, collard greens, cherry tom. and carrots. Her habitat is a terrarium with reptibark and reptisand. Temp 70-85 F H 40-60%. Soaks daily 15-20 min. Any ideas as to what we are doing wrong?

Hi Tom, I'm new in this Forum, may I know how big is your biggest Babcocki? I just purchased one from the local store here in my country. So maybe if you can share some growth chart of babcocki and how big can they get, it'd be appreciated. Thanks!
Hey Tom, Id like to discuss my Sulcata Sandy with you. Im unsure how to use this site to write an email. Ive seen his vet 3 times these last 2 day. We've done x-rays ,shots and much more. The bill is way up there. I also took advice from one of your postings and bought food from a suggested tortoise online supplier. Anyways. Let me know how I can write on the current situation and get your thoughts. Thanks
Hi Tom I just recently got my Sulcata hatchling and I was wondering if you use a fogger or mister in your hatchling enclosures? I read most of your threads but haven't found anything on misters yet. Thanks!

I do not. You won't need that in a closed chamber.
