I can't seem to find anything on these. Edible or..?

Do you have a picture? Many plants go buy pencil cactus some are toxic some are good.

Seeing you are in Wisconsin you probably have a Euphorbia which is toxic.

That is a Euphorbia, it is not eddible, it is toxic.

Euphorbia tirucalli is toxic, as are most euphorbias.

I had no idea of any other name than pencil cactus. Thanks for the knowledge and help!

Not botanically true cacti, the euphorbs are frequently incorrectly referred to in common parlance as cacti.

Bad for humans too. As previously mentioned, the sap is bad news.
