I liv in canada and durring the winter it gets -30celcius ive read in some sites that when my leopard tortoise is bigger I have to have a big enough room for her. But some places ive read says 14×14 others say as small as 8×8 which I wouldnt do for a full grown leopard. What would be the most comfortable for a leopard full grown? For the 9months that the weather Is unbarable for reptiles

I have three female desert tortoises that I can't allow to hibernate for health reasons. They have spent the last three winters in a 4x8 winter habitat on the car port. They really don't do too much wandering during the winter. They mostly sleep and eat.

My leopard tortoises live in a shed that's 10'x12' and even though I open the door for them to be able to go outside, they sometimes go weeks staying inside the shed and don't go outside.

Just make sure the tortoise has enough room to walk around. A full grown leopard tortoise might get by with 8'x8', but naturally, bigger is always better.

We're talking about winter quarters here, folks. Is 8'x8' big enough for a full grown leopard tortoise to always live in? No. But it would be ok for winter.

No I would try to atleast do a 10×10 wen shes bigger. But do to my location and for 7 out of 12 months theres a foot of snow of the ground

I would luv to make a perminent outdoor encloser or even move down to where its warmer, or buy a shed and insolate it like crazy inside and out.

I live as far "down" (south) in Ontario as you can get, and this year we have a foot and a half of snow and the temp's been around 16-18F during the day. Usually, our winters aren't like this - we often go without snow for very long periods of time; this is just a really harsh winter this year.
