How big is Petrie now? Once they get over 3" - 3 1/2" you can usually start to see if male or female - if you care to know.
Too small still. Hes currently like I would say almost 2 inches. He weighs 37 gramm :)

Very cool setup.....and I think Spotted's are only 1 spot(pun very intended) below Diamondbacks as the most beautiful turtles but we won't tell little Matilda that. I think a member here has, if I remember the word correctly, a "colony" of them.....that much be a beautiful view with morning coffee....

cool little guy you have!

Fall Update: cut some plants back and did a big water change. Added some green pond fabric so he can climb the walls to the surface. Beautiful 26°C in the shade today. This year its unusual warm in Austria :)

A friend of mine had some greenhouse glass that he didn't need anymore. It fits not completely but it is nice if the winds are strong and when the nights get cooler

Good upcycle! (Great friend!)

I love your photos - always fun to see a Spotted since they're getting pretty rare here in their home range.

Thank u!

Yes its a shame whats happening with all the wetlands and the illegal collection of wild turtle species. And I guess that roadkills and released pet turtles also make it hard for the shy spotted turtles.
I hope that there is enough effort in america to make sure that u don't lose this awesome turtle species!

It's great looking at these turtles in a pond or aquarium but nothing beats seeing them in the wild I think :)

Time for some picture updates :)
Everything is going well and Petrie is growing good. He survived his brumation and is super active and enjoying the weather! (And I think he could be a she, not quite sure still small)

Petrie looks great! I'm sure you mentioned it earlier in the thread, but how big is that enclosure?
