Thank you so much :) yours is also so cute! I got mine on MorphMarket through a pretty reputable seller called “The Reptile Shop”. They are located in California and they sell all sorts of reptiles, not just tortoises. How about you, where did you get your tort?
Yep - as @TaylorTortoise said, I got mine from Garden State Tortoise. We both got ours at about the same time.

You already have tons of great advice here- in case this is helpful, you don't have to buy the expensive reptile fixtures. I bought this from Amazon, installed it very securely in my enclosed viv, and swapped out the bulb with an Arcadia 12%. I only used one of the fixtures so figure I can use the other as a backup in case the first breaks. It's working really well, and I'm getting the right readings that she needs on my Solarmeter.

Also, I use these permanently in her viv, one on each side. I like being able to constantly see the numbers, and there are no cables.

And this is the UVB bulb I use.

I use a plain 60watt incandescent bulb in a dome fixture for basking and use the temp gun to determine the height of the bulb from the basking rock to get around 95F.

I use a plain dome fixture and CHE for heat. This is attached to the CHE and set at 82F. For the size of her viv, that gives temps of 82-86 F daytime and 74-80 nightime.

I use a strip of LED lights as lighting that goes off when the basking light turns off.

Wow @Astrid37 - great work! I started out with a 12% Arcadia bulb, but had to back it off because of the readings I was getting on the UV meter. Now I am using a ReptiSun 5.0 (which is equivalent to the Arcadia 6%, and at the time was cheaper). That's why having all the right meters is so important - otherwise, I would have been giving him way to much UVB.

DH designed Smidgen's enclosure. The lights are fastened to shelf that runs the length of the box. The shelf rides up and down in slots at both ends so I can move the lights to adjust whatever. I can also move the shelf all the way up to more easily get into the enclosure to work when I need to. I love it! ??
