I was browsing from my TortoiseForum email suggestions of subjects on here..
my first thought was the Greek has a hinge where that part of the shell does move.
here is a link to a similar discussion on here.

Its a great read about your problem. And the answer is clear.
I’m new at Tortoise keeping but I thought this was it, so good ole google brought me right back here with the same questions that were answered.

Wow. I also thought it may have to do with egg laying. Keep a watch on her! Can we see some pictures of her and her setup?
Hello
Around three weeks ago we had a very bad heat wave, so i had to build indoor enclosures for them, but now it's done and it has been raining here, the tempretuer is nice again so im putting them outside.
There is a big garden only for the two of them.
They sleep, eat and do whatever they want there, i will go and take some pictures now and i will post them after i finish
Thank you ?

This is a part of the garden i made for them, the tall plants are green Mallows. They already learned how to eat from that. In the pocket i planted a mixture of Salad.

This is the male ignoring me as usual and giving me that attitude and probably trying to sniff potato out to bully her
Also they have hiding places and water
