I was hoping Walker would venture out today to wander around and eat. He did, about 2:30 this afternoon and stuck to his old routine. I'm not as concerned as much as I was. But still a little bit. He ate quite a lot, mostly cactus pads and fruit. He grazed on the fallen maple leaves and what little weeds and grasses are out there. I also gave him another pumpkin.Picture 005.jpgPicture 006.jpgPicture 019.jpgPicture 021.jpgPicture 023.jpgTomorrow we are supposed to get some rain with snow a little snow north of us. Will wait to see what happens and how he acts.

We had rain today until about 4 pm, The yard flooded and still is around Walkers house. He did come out but not until it was getting dark around 6 pm. He grazed and I hand fed him some cactus. A couple pics of the night WalkerPicture 003.jpg
Picture 007.jpgThis is not unusual behavior for him to come out late in the evening.

It’s scary! They are such residual creatures so when something is wrong, it seems like it’s REALLY wrong:-(
How true, when you watch a tortoise for so many years and learn it's habits, needs and mannerisms and something changes so abruptly you will just figure something is wrong with it's health. I will never know why Walker stayed in his house for so long and I hope he doesn't do it again.

How fascinating. Were you young when you first got walker? How did walker come into your life? Would love to know the story behind walker!

His porch light makes me laugh. It's just so darned cute! I sure am glad he's back to being himself!
That light is for my benefit more than Walkers. It lets me know that his electric is working. There is a small LED night light behind that bulb that will show up if that bulb happens burns out. The LED light is hard to see from the house on a sunny day. If both are off we have a problem that needs fixing.

I went to the Orlando Florida reptile show in 1996 to pick up a Black Mountain tortoise and came home with 2 tortoises instead of just 1. When I saw those little hatchlings knowing how big they could get I needed one. Probably the best spur of the moment buy I've ever made. And no I was not young.

Excellent idea! But it's still adorable!

And no I was not young.

But you're young at heart, Len!

I'm a calm old man and I can't go to bed because it's not tomorrow yet. Still another hour at least.

I never realized that's the reason I'm up all night! I can't go to bed tonight...I've got to wait til I'm well into tomorrow! Thank you for enlightening me! ? ?‍♀️??
