I’ve no idea the vet said it was lodged in her pelvis but gave me no indication what caused it,I am going up to see her tomorrow morning then she is going to be cremated and I can get her ashes in 2 weeks,I’m going to have a word with the vet and see about having an autopsy to see if it will help make sure it doesn’t happen to my other female .

Hi I’m jacqui I live in the uk and I have3 horse fields 2 females and 1 male Shelley the biggest of the females is extremely ill and she’s in the vets at the moment and they are not sure if she is going to make it through the night, I’ve spent a fortune on vet bills and it is causing arguments about the cost just wondered if you had any thoughts on how much is considered enough when there is still hope she will recover.
Hi! Jacqui I also live in UK for my sins in very snowy South Wales right now. What is wrong with your tort? No one can tell you how much to spend on your Tort I once spent well over £300 on a very beautiful tortoise that I had ahd for years and who had woken up all wrong from hibernation. She eventualy dies after 18 months but I knew I had done my very best for her. The problem is whenever you walk through the door of the vets with a tortoise there is another nought on the cheque because they are considered "Exotic". Hope your tortoise gets better. Hi Patricia Shelley passed away yesterday, she was losing to much blood and became very weak I am having her cremated,I spent up to Friday I had spent £2875 but I haven’t had the bill for the scans and X-rays done in the early hours of yesterday but in all honesty I think I would have spent more if it could have saved her, unfortunately they aren’t a hundred percent sure what caused it and we are still talking about an autopsy

Thank you so much I’ve just got to make the decision of wether to let them do an autopsy I am having her cremated but they are prepared to wait until I make my decision about an autopsy,I really miss her I had her at home and being a nurse I could do her treatment at home so when she went back in it just feels so strange without her

The vet has just phoned me for the 4th time saying they have done a scan which is another £160 but it hasn’t helped they said she has been fed 3 ml of intensive care food via her tube and they are going to give her an injection similar to human txa to help stem the bleeding but they think it’s her womb but said it could be something to do with the 3 eggs she’s got inside her
Poor little girl! I will pray for Shelley to get well and that you come to peace of mind. I think you have to ask why your partner is being so unsupportive to you when he should be offering comfort. Please do not think I am being uppity here. I want the best for you. Years ago I had a boyfriend who couldn't understand why I spent what he thought was so much money on my rats and mice. I decided that he couldn't understand me. He's gone but I have pets.

Boy, if she’s got eggs rotting inside her....I think having lost that much blood, can’t be good. Has that Vet considered doing a blood transfusion ?
