Hello,

I've been using incandescent flood lights for basking lights and it has been working great. Problem is, they are getting more challenging to find as they are being phased out for LEDs.

I was just at the local Home Depot and this store quit carrying them. I could always stock up, but that doesn't seem sustainable.

Here's a pic of what I currently use.

What are others using?

Thanks!

My local stores are still stocking them, but I figure I'll have to go online to get them in the future if they stop. The sad part is the confusion for new tortoise keepers that are trying to buy a "65 watt Flood" and don't notice or understand the little "replacement" part in the small print.

Home Depot only still stocks the "mini floods" in incandescent......And they're $10 each! However, I bought the last six just in case....

I buy them from Amazon online in boxes of 12.

In California it is illegal for a store to sell incandescent bulbs of 100 watts or more for lighting. Exceptions are for brooder or heating lamps. My Lowes also still carries the 65 watt floods. They simply just aren't used much anymore as LEDs are such an obviously better lighting choice for most all people.
