He's a beauty! It would be a fun record to see his growth pictures next to the little ceramic tortoise like the first couple pictures.

I took his picture with the same 2 inch statue ? he is 9 and 3/4 inches straight length. It’s amazing to see how much he can eat lol... he is being a good kid and gobbling up the grass and weeds I get for him. Still not keen on grass hay but I just keep offering

Vladimir JUST this winter started eating more grass hay on his own. It's taken over two years of offering it, but he seems to like it now ?

Some how he manages to pick completely around the grass hay ? I even soak it to rehydrate it but so far no dice. But put some Mazuri out different story lol...

I think what did the trick for us was putting the mazuri out on a bed of hay. Eventually started burying the mazuri in the hay so he had to dig for it. ?

Another milestone met! Sheldon is 2yrs and is now 8lbs ?? he continues to be a wonderful source of joy for us. It’s amazing to watch him grow. We are working on his permanent outdoor enclosure with a heated shed with night box and bigger yard. ❤️?78324341-AA50-4C83-B19E-F1556B4DCB0B.jpeg

#Peggy Sue..I just now discovered this thread...what a cute tortoise...really pretty face...I know we are in different climate zones...my bigger torts aren't outside yet. Saturday I literally sat down behind Big Sam and used my feet and legs to push him out of his doggie door...(he grew over winter)...he walked the perimeter once then went back in and under his light...jerk...029.JPG012.JPG018.JPG

@maggie18fan, yeah it’s still to cold here as well for much outside time. It’s also the reason like you we decided on a shed versus one of @toms amazing night boxes. We wanted him to have room to roam if he could get out. Thank you for your kind word I think he is a cutie too but I might be biased lol... keep putting pictures of your guys I love seeing pictures of the big guys ❤️?

Thank you EllieMay! Have you gotten pickles and crusher to eat grass hay yet? For Sheldon it’s a hard no lol... I even put it with his mazuri which he loves and he picked around it.

Nope.. mine won’t touch it... luckily, I have had plenty of grass year round so it hasn’t been a problem but as they turn into dozers, it may become one... they each got decent size yards this year and In the winter I put out winter rye grass that grows really well...
