IMG_6343.jpg Because of her size, we assume Kona is approximately 2 and a half years old. She is 4 inches and 9 centimeters long and weighs 354 grams. We got her a month and a half ago and she was 4 inches and 6 centimeters.

Is this is an okay weight for a 2 and a half year old redfoot? She has no evidence of pyramiding. I know tortoises grow at different paces, I just want to make sure she isn't growing too fast or too slow. Thank you in advance.

That weight seems good. They all grow at different rates. I'd probably guess Kona is much younger though. For comparison, My youngest one is just over 4" weighs 275g's and she hatched last Xmas Eve.

i am so sorry. I have just realized my mistake. Kona is 4 7/8 inches I got mixed up. Haha. Do you still think Kona is a yearling with this length and the weight of 354 grams? No wonder everyone was commenting on the measurements!

If I had to guess using my RF's as comparison I'd say around a year and a half. Just a guess though.

The weights can very so much, it's hard to tell... Kona's eyes and shell and beak and nails and carriage all look good!

Assuming that she's eating well, I'd say you've got a winner on your hands.

Thanks for the reply. Kona is eating great. Today she had romaine, butter lettuce, cantaloupe, raspberries, tomato, cucumber and carrot. She loves her food - every morning when I put her food in, she comes running!
