I have a uva/uvb light and a ceramic heat light on at night , it get cool here in Minnasota. Do I need to change any thing. 2 I cant get weeds here for him to eat what would you suggest to give him ,I have food they sent me and I been using spring mix. Hi, I’m a new Hermann’s mom as well. I’m not sure how to put a link to the care sheet on here, but go the the Hermann’s section and read the care sheet carefully. Some care will vary with age of the tortoise. You need to measure your humidity as well. I’m sure some more experienced people will add in.

I highly recommend going to the Garden State Tortoise and Hermaniihaven web sites. There is a bunch of detailed, correct information to help with housing and diet. You can find some grocery green items that will be safe to feed on there. Most recommend Mazuri feed as well, my guys like it already. I’m still able to find weeds here in Ohio for part of their diet.

Usually posting pics of your enclosure will help people to help you make improvements to it.
Welcome!

It's not a good idea to allow a young tortoise to be in moist/humid area where it's cool. Warm/moist is fine, but cool/moist is not.

Hi thanks for your help. My little guy seems happy this morning. after his soak and a little head rub[ which he must like he just lays there in my hand with his back legs out] He ate his soften tortoise food. I put leafy greens down to but I don't know if he eats them. Last night I had the room temp abot 78 -80 then he has a heat lamp on, do you think that's warm enough for his moist hide out? I think I'm going to name him Dobby after the house elf in Harry Potter. Do they sell Muzuri for different ages for tortoise or is it all the same, and where is a good place to get it? Sorry for all the questions, If anybody has any input on anything please share,I'm new to this and will take all the advice I can get.
