Thanks everybody. She must of been pretty sick before I even got her. She never really did eat enthusiasticly. The only thing I thought was off was she basked constantly. When she stopped eating almost a week ago though she declined pretty rapidly.

She's beautiful. Great find indeed. Any pics of your setup?

I love that. How many live in there? What types of turtles?
I've got 4 sliders, a Eastern River Cooter, and a Midland painted living in here. I'm currently dealing with an outbreak of some kind of illness though so one of the sliders and the Cooter are quarantined at the moment.

Hope it all works out. How big is this pond of yours?

Checkout this beautiful girl I found today and couldn't pass up. She'll be quarantined for a little before she joins the others. Any opinions on if this is just a regular Red ear with unique colors? Or possibly some kind of intergrade?View attachment 279788 View attachment 279789 View attachment 279790

The multiple vertebral scutes is a malformation and I have seen it in the wild but is most often seen in the pet trade. Here is a link to a page with a photo of a baby that has a similar scute pattern. http://staff.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/2015/02/19/troubles-with-turtles/
Despite it being a "malformation" it is still pretty darn cool and the yellow markings on this turtle are striking.

Sorry she was not healthy when you got her. She really was very pretty!
RIP, Sunny. You got a good name and some quality care before you left, anyway.

Thanks for your kind words Tammy
You are welcome, but the words are an expression of how I really feel about this situation, and not just "kind words". But anyway, I appreciate your thanking me for the kind words. But I am not really a "kind" person....!
