Emi is my Sulcatta that is 13 months old. I just upgraded her habitat, it went from a cement mixing container to the kiddy pool. I put a double pack of the coconut coir. I added a 10 lb bag of organic dirt, and put her in Monday. I checked her this morning and she is limp, eyes shut, I’m so sad as I’ve had her over a year I’ve gotten so in love with her. I’ve read several threads that said to wait a week or until decomp starts or she comes to. Any ideas ?

Could she have overheated?
Did she flip over?
Anything look unusual at all?
Discharge?
Smell?
That description was pretty vague. First try a warm water soak in very shallow water. Then,
keep her warm and dry and give it two days.
If her eyes look sunken, she goes stiff or begins to smell badly its over.
It's very hard to tell if a tortoise is dead...Or in a "coma" type state.
But we also must try to determine what exactly happened.

Im really sorry for your loss, thats so heartbreaking, im so sorry about your Emmi. Organic dirt has organic fertilizer and all organic fertilizer ive used in the past for my plants has been heavier then regular fertilizer that might be a possibility [emoji24]

Nothing happened to her, I simply put her in the new “digs”. She’s been not eating well since April. I’ve been making her Mazuri
Food wet, with a bit of water, baby carrots and Cod Liver oil. Then I would fill up in a syringe and just feed her I put her in a shallow soaking clay pot today, she is “resting” now.

Sorry.
I wasn't familiar with your tortoise.
I didn't know she had been sick.

Well after losing Emi, I posted on FB. Everyone knew I loved her so much . I got a message from my friends daughter, wondering if I would like to re-home an 8 yo Sulcatta. Her husband found her wandering the oil fields in North Dakota last summer. The just didn’t have time for her. I did a quick 500 mile round trip, she’s home now. She is not afraid at all, no hissing. They had dogs also, she’s so happy

@Obbie I'm so happy to hear this update! My heart always breaks when someone has a little tortoise that doesn't make it, because I fear they'll give up on tortoise-keeping after such a hard experience. It makes me so happy to know that you're rescuing an older sulcata in need of a home. :<3:
