Shell Damage?

Hi guys,

Recently I went to pick up my male 3-toed, Hammond, and noticed these marks on the top end of the shell. I had not noticed these before in the three months I've had him, but its possible that I just never looked that closely.

What is this? Does it look new? I dont know how he could have done this to himself in his new enclosure, but I just wanted to get other opinions.

What I think I see looks like some older healed damage.
Does it disappear when its wet?

It is definitely more visible when wet, yes.

It's old and healed damage, just like what Zeropilot said. Probably chew marks from some sort of canine.

My EBT has the same thing! His looks pretty bad. We think he was chewed by a dog.
