I will try some of those greens. I’ve been giving him some baby Swiss chard from the spring mix salad that I have and putting some diced up cucumber in it. I think he picked at it. But nothing too much. We also put 2 of those vitamin pellets in with the mix but doesn’t seem to like them. I’ll switch him to those greens. Had him outside today in our garden bed. Seemed to like investigating. Next summer I’m going to make him an outdoor space with one of those wooden garden beds.

He finally ate. Romaine, baby Swiss chard and bits of cucumber. I hand fed him one leaf then we put in front of his dish and ate the rest. Finally. He has t eaten since we’ve had him. Almost 1 week.
He’s getting used to you! Now he will eat like a horse and poop is his food bowl, cause you know....that’s was Russian Torts do.

Can they eat marigolds? I didn’t see them on this list but have seen them elsewhere in tortoise care on the web

He is just getting used to you & the new environment. Our Sheldon did that too. Leave him be, & gradually let him get used to you. He will be fine.

Not sure about marigolds, but I know dandelion flowers are safe. My guy loves dandelions (stalk & all), petunias, & clover flowers (white & purple).

Is it better to give them distilled water or tap with conditioner? Or does distilled need the conditioner as well?
