Could you just blend carrots? Im quite environmental so i try to avoid plastic where possible[emoji23]
I suppose so.... I should think that's just what you buy. I keep a pack for emergencies.
Some councils recycle those packs now.
You used to be able to buy the jars of Hipp organic 'Simply Carrot' in Tesco but unfortunately they stopped doing them in favour of the pouches.

Just googled and looks like Boots do the jars though - 65p

This link may help you find a vet, but I know the other organisations I mentioned list reptile vets on their websites too.
https://www.thetortoisetable.org.uk/tortoise-health/uk-vets/#.XSpYjOhKhnI They can't comment on how good the vets are but kay ve a starting point for you.
I think I would contact a tortoise club though as someone there may have had personal dealings with a good vet.
Yes that is the UK equivalent to Gerbers

I tried, i did everything they said on here, she just wouldnt.
They all drink and or otherwise absorb water in a soak.
With baby food soaks, some nutrients also get into them.
If you don't actually see him/ her eating or drinking. It may still be beneficial.

Hi Erin.
I also live in Leicestershire, I take my tortoise to a reptile vet in Silaby. The practice is called Chine House & the vet is called Craig. He’s very knowledgable & keeps Tortoises himself.
That is the one i went to although the vet wasnt called Craig, might ask if i can see him specifically next time, thank you.

If that is just scar tissue on the eyeball, it will probably heal over time. I took in a rescue box turtle that had been exposed to a frozen night and his eyes had a white film over them from freezing. It took a whole year, but eventually the eyes healed and he's fine now.

But your tortoise's eyes still look a bit squinty to me - not open as wide as they should be. I'd try some healing, soothing eye ointment:

They definitely look better than they did but as Yvonne said not 100%.
I would keep up with the carrot soaks twice per day and also try to get hold of that vetericyn if you can.

It does look like scar tissue, if it is, is it because she was 'hibernating' for so long?

Ill check that stuff out thank you.

Where did he hibernate? Is there any chance the temperature dropped down below freezing?

Thing is i never even wanted her to hibernate since she is still fairly young and an indoor tortoise. She kinda just started sleeping in the enclosure, i kept the light on and carried on soaking her and she would just sleep walk around. She stopped eating and there wasnt really anything i could do.

Many people pooh pooh the idea of soaking a tortoise in puree'd carrot water, and I'm not a scientist, so I don't have the science behind it, but I DO have the experience with it. I have soaked many, many turtles and tortoises with swollen shut eyes and my experience is that after three days of soaking, for at least 45 minutes per soak, the eyes open and the turtle/tortoise is on the road to recovery.
