Adjusting to humid climate

Our baby Eastern Hermanns, Elsa, is about 6 months old. I watched a video on Kamp Kenan and he mentioned something about letting the hermann's adapt to the humid climate on the east coast. How do I acclimate her to our humidity? Do I even need to worry about it since I plan on keeping her as an indoor pet because we live in a wooded neighborhood with hawks, raccoons, foxes, owls, dogs, etc.? I would like to take her outside once in a while though to get some fresh air and natural sun...with a cover over the habitat.

First, stop watching Kenan. He's not a bad guy, but he's following old out-dated advice and passing it on. He also engages is some pretty bad tortoise practices. He's makes videos with good production quality, but the content is often bad tortoise advice.

For your situation, build a good outdoor enclosure with a cover, and put the tortoise outside for an hour several times a week. As the tortoise gains size, leave it outside longer and longer. Here are some ideas:
