Hi Cory, and welcome to the Forum!

I'm curious what purpose does the cardboard in the enclosure serve?

Hey there. Can we see some more pictures of both the turtles? Especially the plain shelled one, (Red?) to try and identify it.
You have not responded to the question about the cardboard dividers. What is the purpose of having them in there?

IMG_20190717_195722.jpg Sheiva is a eastern box. The divider is there so they don't jump into the water bowl and so they don't get substrate in the water

Hi and welcome.
There are great caresheets for most species of torts/turtles here, which will help you with diet, temps, substrate humidity etc
I don't know anything about the species you have but generally it isn't advised to mix species because they carry different pathogens which could make them ill. Also torts don't like competition as they like their own space and will try to bully other torts out of it ,so keep an eye out for any behaviour like staring, following, pushing and biting etc. it can have serious consequences for the one on the receiving end. Ideally they should have separate enclosures.
It's all a learning curve ,so enjoy reading and ask as many questions as you need someone will be around to help.
