I just got my baby red foot tortoise and I have seen a bubble come out of his/her nostril and I’ve heard clicking noises or pop noises come from him/her and occasionally will pull his/her head and arms in also he/her is inactive and stays in his/her hide basically all day but he/she is eating well and has a healthy smooth shell and doesn’t look sick or unhealthy I also regularly mist down his/her enclosure and have a UVB and UVA light running all day and turn them off at night I’m really concerned and would appreciate some help thank you.

Also I have only seen the bubbles 2 times since I’ve had him/her (I’ve had him/her for about a week now) and at first his eyes were watery so I thought he was dehydrated so I soaked him more frequently and his watery eyes went away but I still don’t know why he/her is inactive and stays in his/her hide a lot also this is the first pet tortoise I’ve ever had but he/her showed these signs since the first day I got him/her.

I use regular a 150 watt heat lamp but should I really switch to a heat emitter instead? Because I think my tortoise is cold which could cause these symptoms to happen and it would also explain the inactivity

His temps go from 60-70 but I have a basking area that goes to 80-90 but I’m going to switch to CHE so his enclosure reaches the temps needed

60-70 is far too cold. Aim for mid 80s thru out the enclosure. Your Redfoot is really young, it still has it's egg tooth. Babies are going to spend 95% of their time hiding. You won't see them out and about much except to eat. Get your temps right and as long as your baby is eating your shouldn't have to worry.
