Are the mosquito drop in rings for killing mosquito larva safe to put in Sulcata bath? This is for 6 yr-old who lives outside obviously. The package says it is safe in livestock tanks.

May I ask why you are putting it in the bath?

No. If its toxic enough to kill insects, you don't want our tortoise soaking in it or drinking it.

In warm temps it takes mosquitos 48 hours to mature. Dump the water, rinse and refill at least every 47 hours.

Ok. Thanks. I will just keep dumping and cleaning.
dmmj, I was just trying to save some effort. But it’s ok. Otis is worth the effort to keep him healthy.

They are safe, I have been using them for years. There is no toxin in them, image that, The Tortoise Table alarmist rant's of @Tom not withstanding. There is a bacteria in them, that bacteria is used in systems where municipal drinking water exists, so, odds are you drank some water that had that bacteria in it.

And just to be sure we are talking about the same thing, this is what I use, and imagine what you are talking about. https://www.arbico-organics.com/pro...7zreQzrYr2iGKWCfB3TayZSHm8UCx_okaAjcjEALw_wcB

Yeah, I read it myself, do not use in finished, treated drinking water. That is because chlorine kills the bacteria, and they worry people will miss-apply the dunks.

https://tortoiseforum.org/threads/mosquito-dunks.78868/ . from a few years ago, that's how long I've used them.

Yes, that is the product to which I was referring. I read the old forum post too. Thank you.
