Hey guys,
Is there a way to make these big beautiful Boston ferns I see at the stores every spring safe for my torts enclosure without waiting for new growth? I get mixed answers. I was under the assumption that you have to repot it in organic soil and wait for all new growth. But I read somewhere if you wash the roots that it might be safe.

I believe you still have to wait about 6 months to a year even if you wash the roots. The pesticides are already in the plant and they have to work out of it to be safe.
