Hey everyone. Meet Tonga. My first hatchling and also My first tortoise. I am new to tortoise keeping. I am mostly familiar with keeping Box Turtles. I always liked Red Foot Tortoises, especially Cherry Heads. That black and red combo is so cool. Tonga just recently hatched in my incubator. He quickly absorbed his yolk sac and started eating his greens. I had posted a few pictures here and there on different threads. This thread is for the further adventures of Tonga the Tortoise.

He's just adorable!

Do you have Am/Pm mini markets where you live? There's a commercial for them showing some sort of monster who is made up of all different kinds of foods. His name is TMGS and it sounds like he's pronouncing it Tumgus. Your tortoise's name brings up that food monster in my mind every time I read it.

too much good stuff.gif

You'll be surprised how fast they grow. Yours is a sibling of mine. Mine hatched Xmas Eve at 32g and as of a few days ago she weighs 110g.

Lol. No we don’t have those. We got the name Tonga from the French Toast (Tonga Toast) at the Polynesian Hotel in Disney World.

Changed Tonga’s paper towels in the closed chamber and tossed in some organic greens. Tonga went right to them and began chowing down.

I saw Tonga take a nip at the paper towel while eating. Didn’t seem to get any, but i moved the greens to the center immediately. Can’t be too careful.
