Hey all,
I'm the new owner of a beautiful Hermann's tortoise named Hermes Holmes the Hermanni or HHH :p. I am looking forward to learning from everyone here. Any and all tips are welcome. Of course, I know how to browse the forum as well.

I've had him for a week now. His diet is mainly organic medley salad, curly parsley, kale and a bit of green bell pepper. I bought mazuri tort diet to soften and feed but he doesn't seem interested. Things are going well. I bathe him at least every other day. I know I am saying he, though no way to tell and don't like saying it. Just trying to keep that humidity up for now. I planted some kentucky bluegrass for decor or eating. Seems to grow easily since his tortoise palace gets sun from the picture window he sits by. Here he is sitting next to his monument.

Thank you!
There's one thing I really cant make my mind up on. I bought a therm/hygro meter but I don't really trust the accuracy.
Can anyone recommend a reliable meter for temperature and humidity? I'd prefer a combination but doesn't have to be.

Hi Renee:

Please be sure to give credit to the owner of these charts that you are posting here. We have several of them pinned at the tops of our species specific section, but we were given permission to post them providing we gave credit to the owner - Everythingturtles.com on FB.

20190304_173132.jpg 20190304_173059.jpg The temp/ hydro is made by ETHMEAS and the temp gun is by ETEKCITY. Both on Amazon and all give the same readings. I check now and then by putting them in the same ambient temp. Seem to work fine for over a year now.
If you don't have a temp gun get one soon. It gives you instant readings all thru your enclosure
