Sam - I want to make sure I understand your post. How old is the tortoise in the middle?

Last year from original post in 07/2017 the boy was 10 year old, so he ( the one in the middle ) should be 11 year old now?

Is there law prohibits exporting F2 or F3 offsprings of this species btw? There are many responsible experienced successful breeders here in U.S. I think will be nice if they get a chance to hold some of your "insurance".

How I wish I could legalised my herd and one day help repopulate , if anything does happen to their specie in the wild !

My IP address has been banned (I think because I went to China and opened TFO) and I just tried a new VPN that finally works. Love your post Sam, as always!! Hope you’ll have an even better hatching season this year!

Whats the difference between bred in captivity legitimately and bred in captivity illegitimately !

Just the wording and some paperwork from what I see !

If not for some smuggling/ trafficking ,there will be no so call confiscated legitimate plowshare@angonoka @yniphora anywhere outside of Madagascar island ! ( beside a handful of them already in captivity before CITES come into play )

We or they should thank the smugglers for the daring act of trafficking them out to be confiscated . To add to the breeding programs to be reintroduced back into the wild .

Cheers

Before CITES and after CITES aren’t they still similar - poached from the wild in the name of science or as goods sold for pets or worse still for food !

If you look into the quota of CITES for some species over the years - some are unsustainable ! But the member country agree to them in the name of business to earn some money !
