that my little one isn't going to make it long term. Got her in July and while he does eat, the appetite isn't what I'd expect it to be. Everything is as it should be regarding enclosure, humidity, lighting, temps, heat source and diet. There's just no growth. There was a 57 gm weigh in a few months ago that had me excited, but either the scale was off or she had a 6 gm poop inside. Actually, I haven't done a weigh in for a while as I just didn't want the disappointment. Today I again got a 51 gm reading and realized I'm just keeping him comfortable. I'm not sure how much time the little one has, but we'll make the best of it. I'm pissed and saddened that I was ignorant/uninformed about the proper starting of hatchlings and that I didn't buy from a reputable breeder instead of at a reptile show. Lesson learned. Don't give up. I've seen them come back from the brink. Try chopping up the food into very tiny pieces.

Do the twice a day soaks in warm water with carrot baby food, maintaining the water warm thru the soak. There have been a couple of success stories in the forum, don’t give up!!!

Thank you. I do chop the food up. Various greens, hibiscus leaves and flowers chopped and mixed in with the mazuri.

Yes. Every one will tell you that the carrot molecules are too big to be absorbed, but I'm telling you it works! If you faithfully soak three days in a row for at least a half hour you'll see an improvement after three days.

Don't give up @Chasen! I'm dealing with a previous owner neglect and tort that was/is pretty bad off. But I've seen improvement. Sometimes glaring, sometimes slight. Just take it one day at a time. And listen to @Yvonne G and @Tom and all the others... They are an endless source of knowledge. Carrot soaks work, as odd as it sounds. Real sunshine works, even for 10 minutes per day. I have a long way to go with my little one, but I just wanted your little one is depending on you. Best wishes and hugs to YOU @Chasen

Would you please explain the process? The baby food is diluted or I'm soaking in baby food only?

According to @Yvonne G , half and half, warm water and baby food. I’m still doing it for my little one. Who knows, something’s working for me!!!!

I mix it with very hot water, then when I soak the baby, I set the bowl back into the enclosure NEXT to the edge of where the light shines down. This keeps it warm.
