Youre using way too much calcium. Just a TINY pinch between your thumb and index finger.

Can I please see a picture of the label on your calcium?

This s a new hatching. Plz check the yolk if the yolk still absorbing. You should not soak the tortoise.

Agreed. That doesn't look appetizing at all. It looks dry and would most likely taste way too bitter.

I mean it eats the food up like crazy so I would have to disagree I guess it’s a preference and dry? Lmao how can you tell if it’s dry or wet it’s a pic and I will inform you there was water at the bottoms how damp it was

I also mix the food and calcium with a lil bit of water so it mixes well so there’s no way it’s dry bitter maybe you’d have to ask my tortoise

1. What is the humidity level of your enclosure?

2. How damp is the substrate? Are there many dry spots in the enclosure?

3. Are you using a feeding tile along with that plastic reptile branded feeding/water dish?

It may be possible that some dry large pieces of cypress mulch may have cut open your tortoise's mouth. Try to get a better look at your tortoise's mouth. If there indeed is a cut, a vet visit may be necessary depending on the severity of the cut.

He’s not bleeding my enclosure is fine obvise 70 humidity always substrate is damp in some areas obvy kinda dry in baskin and wdym by feeding tile? It’s like a flat small bowl he can climb in and out of easily if you read up you will see the calcium when it gets wet looks turns into a blood color that’s why I thought I was seeing blood in his / her food but there wasn’t ever any blood
