Most likely the sex. Females seem to get much bigger then males. The smaller one is the same size and weight as my males. The large one is close to the size and weight of the females I had.
I should say that is my guess as that is what I seen in my own and in pics of others. I don't know if these two have ever been confirmed of their sex.

They look great. Can't believe how big they are. Doesn't seem like it's been that long ago they were tiny.

Pretty sure they are male and female.... waiting any time for her to start digging holes.... he's had a pretty busy summer!

My one female was 20 pounds in march this year and 20 something inches. She was big but also a mix. could yours be a mix? My other female that wasn't a mix was not quite that big but still bigger then the males.
My males never got it right when trying to breed the larger female.

I don't know the lineage of Gaia. I got her from another member who went to Collage and her mom made her give everything up. Gaia was 8 months old when I got her. I selected Eros a couple of days after he hatched from a breeder her on TFO and he arrived the day after I picked up Gaia.

I gotta say, since we moved here to Southern California, they have exploded with growth! I know that Gaia has almost doubled her weight and size in the last year. Eros has also grown but not as much as Gaia.
