They all look huge for how small he is. Was wondering what type is best and where to buy from. Weren't too all the pretty stores in my area and they only have adult food. We're getting it Tuesday, and trying to get everything in order.

Like said above if you get mazuri tortoise diet. You can just soften the pellets, which doesn’t take long. Makes it easier for hatchlings to eat.

Don't purchase the Mazuri LS type.
Your RF wont eat it.
Also, even Mazuri shouldn't be a very large part of a babies diet. Almost all of the food, lights, etc. Available at pet stores are a waste of your money.
Redfoot can eat a huge variety of foods. More than any other species that I'm aware of. But pellets should really never be the main part of the feeding.

My RF devours the LS. I've never tried the original though.

No kidding?
That's the first time I've heard of a RF eating the stuff.
Mine just wouldn't.
I eventually got rid of it by doing an 80/20 mix in my "original formula" until it was all gone.
I usually discourage newbies from buying it because so many tortoises wont eat it (According to numerous posts and my own experiences)

Just curious what is LS Mazuri? I thought there was only one kind.

LS is a newer formula with "better" ingredients.
It's also smaller, harder, darker and It takes much longer to soften in water.
The original red label formula has gotten difficult to find in some areas.
Most keepers report that their tortoises will not eat the L.S. And most tortoise owners report that the regular formula is irresistible. Myself included.

Mine, stan.lee, eat a 5 or 6 and rest isn't touched. Summer almost/fall..so I have dandelions, plantains, Collard greens, turnip greens and tons of mangoes michigan has been over flowing in all kinds of juicy mangoes..lol mazuri ls she eats a litttle. I use zoomed forest mix and zoomed tortoise gourmet. Bunch of stuff...for one day of protein I do a bit of everything, chicken, pork, beef, shrimp, fish and mazuri croc chow. I change it up every week. Fruit, apples, cherries, Blueberrys, strawberrys etc...

I get my Mazuri at a livestock tack and feed store for horses, cows, pigs. Etc.
25 pound bags.
A lot of country type feed stores can get Mazuri tortoise chow.
Its parent company is Purina.
I thought logo was Purina...remember..lion chow, horse chow yrs ago. Lol makes sense

I asked where we got him from and were told they were strictly on greens and they said the babies usually won't touch the pellets until they get older. Then just mix the pellets with the greens if I want.

Pellets of any kind are your choice. Purely as a convenience for you. They are not required as food and your tortoise will be fine if he never even sees a pellet.;)
However, your Redfoot needs more than greens and should have a diet of about 50% greens with leaves and flowers, 30% fruit. (I do even more in the summer) and 20% other. In my case that will be mushrooms, cactus and protein such as dog food and Mazuri pellets. More or less.
Make sure you search and print out a Redfoot foods lists.
Redfoot can eat a very large variety of foods. More than most other species.
