Hi I've just finished creating my new tank for my map turtle. It's 4ft by 2ft by 2ft glass. It has a 1cm thick acrylic sheet docking area about 35cm up where she can bask and also lay eggs if she needs to in the sand. She loves it and is swimming alot more and looking alot healthier. Just wondering if anyone can see anyway I could improve it?

The only thing I thought could be wrong is that she can go up for air on the right hand side of the tank. I don't know if maybe she'll get confused when trying to come up for air?20180602_091810.jpegScreenshot_20180602-092104_Gallery.jpeg

I did something similar. I ended up moving the dock about 1inch above the water line. I did this not because they couldn't breathe on that side, but they were hitting their mouths on the plastic when trying to eat. You might have the same problem.

The sand is a cool idea though let me know how it works. I tried covering mine with green felt and they just kept ripping it off. So I got rid of it.

I am not too familiar with aquatics, but for the map turtle to lay eggs, I assume it would need to be deeper.

A 1600 litre per hour internal filter. It's harder to clean than most filters but I don't have the room for an external filter and it provides a good flow rate round the tank.
