Oh my god, thank you for showing them! It’s so great to know that my care sheet might have saved some torts! [emoji1]
No problem. I've driven by that pet store probably a million times. I've never stopped before because their sign makes it look like they only specialize in saltwater fish. My daughter asked me to stop so she could look. Turns out they had a reptile room in the back as well.

Okay, brother, thanks for explaining keep doing what you're doing!
While it can definitely work in an enclosure as big as yours, and even sometimes in smaller, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it to that group. Most of the people on that site are in the age group of 11-16(me being no exception), and have no way to pay for such a large enclosure. Even then, there are very few people, especially tortoise keepers, on there that can handle the space, and it would likely be detrimental to their health.
Another thing is that I feel it would be a lot safer in a group, because then it’s almost guaranteed that any potential bullying will be spread out :)

Wow, this is amazing! Well done! I can't imagine the time it took you to do this. I'm going to be getting a redfoot within the next couple years. Right now I'm just spending hours upon hours researching, looking around at places for the best prices on stuff, and slowly I will begin gathering supplies. Tomorrow I pick up the first "supply" - a 75 gallon tank on a stand when I came across your guide, I loved it! Answered so many of my questions! Thank you!

75 gallon will be too small in 6 months. Save your money and look for bigger enclosure ideas here that have lids for humidity and temp control.

Having worked with these guys for 18+ years and hatched dozens and dozens of F2 RF's from my breeding pair, here's my commentary.

All in all, very good. Diet is too heavy on the greens end as in the wild they eat a 55-60% fruit diet (which I've used for 18 years to great success).

As for YouTube folks, I have a RF/YF channel with close to 1400 subscribers and a RF/YT video husbandry course, so there's at least one YTer you can trust. :)

BTW, nice screen grab from one of my videos of my indoor pen I used when we lived in Minneapolis.

I learned a lot from your vids before I got my RF @Ernie Johnson. I was wondering if you were on this forum, Thank you!

I'm here, just so busy with my day time gig (I'm an IT guy) so I don't have as much time to add moderately intelligent replies (and add more videos to my YT channel ) as I'd like to.

Yep, as I'm researching more and more, I've decided to go with maybe a box turtle of some sort, maybe an Eastern or Ornate, instead of a tortoise.

Oh hey, sorry I missed your comment!
I’ll be sure to add that to the diet section, and I’ll add you to the source list!
Sorry about the picture! It was one of the first things that popped up on google when I searched “indoor redfoot enclosure”, and it looked like the best one! I’ll credit you right away, unless you want me to take it off.
