I was wondering if anyone could help me with how they have their water turtles setup for they can lay eggs if need be? I was hoping to avoid buying a waterland tub which includes the nesting area and make something more cost efficient. Any ideas, pictures, or information would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Waterland tubs is the easiest way . Just do a Google search and you'll find them in any size you want .

There are some YouTube videos with indoor modified stock tanks, aquariums with a basking/nest area above and several waterland tubs that are creative.

Yeah I was hoping to find a more cost effective way of creating one. I love the way the waterland tubs look and are setup but they are rather pricey.

Look around pet shops . The ones around here sell used ones cheap . If they're faded you can use a heat gun to bring the color back . If you're doing indoor setups it's the way to go . Put one master drain to four tubs and build a filter system that filters four tubs .

I use a 10 gallon tank laying on its side on top of the regular tank. I fill it halfway up with coco core and vermiculite and spagnue moss on a slant so it simulated the side of a pond. Make sure the substrate is moist but not sopping wet. I throw some small rocks or roots to make it look homey. Then i make a long latter to reach up to the nesting box tank. I used a regular 2X4 that i sawed ridges in to so the female can grip. You MUST make sure they cannot escape using the latter because they will try. I found my female under the refrigerator twice before i figure it out. I made a little cover out of styrofoam toothpicks and liquid nails but hot glue would work to. Its also good to black out the side of the tank and the top so that the female feels safe. I used green because it simulates

We have just upgraded the turtles home
We ordered a custom sized aquarium to a company in The Netherlands . And actually the price was quite good . We had previously installed an indoor pond but it’s a bit dangerous for my little daughter so we bought the aquarium
we adopted the turtles 5 years ago and we learned recently that we have a female and a male from 2 different species, so we will see what happens !
