How do I know which foods are to bed often vs occasionally vs as treats etc..
I discovered today that I have mallow and deadnettle in my yard.
The breeder was mainly feeding dandelion which I now hear is to be occasionally fed.
And I know that I can get dandelion, watercress and coriander all year round at the grocery store.
But I don't want to over do it with anything that maybe should only be once a week or so.

Is it common mallow you have growing? It can be smaller or have fewer leaves but generally looks like this:

Nearly all the mallows are safe to feed, including common mallow.

Do take a look at the Tortoise Table to determine which deadnettle you have. One is completely fine and one is fine in moderation.

I wouldn't be surprised if you had a few other safe weeds sneaking around out there.

Mine wouldn't touch it...until she did.

She won't eat most things in the malva family but she will devour cheese mallow in the spring and early summer.

Tortoises! o_O
