I sometimes use a soft kids toothbrush to scrub his shell. Murphy tolerates it cause I let him snack while doing it.

I'll try that. I haven't soaked him in a while but I'm pretty sure he is well hydrated coz I see him drinking and I sometimes spray his grass n weeds until they are dripping wet.

Any updates on yoshi?
Hi, haven't been here in a while. We just moved to a new house and I brought Yoshi and his house and put it in the backyard yesterday. He has a bigger space to roam now (20'x50') all dirt and some grass and weeds growing. I haven't measured him in a while as well but last I checked he was around 10". I'll take some pics after we are settled down. Moving is so stressful lol.
How are his bros, Beans and Watson?

Hope you're getting settled in! :)
Beans and Watson are doing fantastic. Beans turned out to be female and Watson, male. I can't wait to see pictures of Yoshi!!

Nice! How big are they now? I don't think Yoshi has gotten any bigger (still around 10"). Here are some pics of him from the other day in his new digs. I noticed he has trouble finding his way back to his house even when he is close to it, weird. Sometimes I have to put him on the ramp before he goes back in. Doesn't seem to have much of an appetite either. Must still be getting used to the new surroundings.

Here are some pics from Winter when I housed him indoors. I find him more active when he is indoors. He eats so much and roams a lot. He comes rushing out of his house when he hears me fixing things in the enclosure. Outdoors, he is always hiding and doesn't eat much.IMG_9519.JPG IMG_9520.JPG

@Subersibo can you please share photos of your outdoor enclosure? I saw some of it in your video of yoshi and I’m working on getting my little guy set up with something similar. I live in Northern California and it cools off here quite a bit at night, so a well insulated hide is going to be crucial to his outdoor living. Thanks for your help.

Also, how did you get him to eat grass? Was it a slow process? Our guy Mo is so damn picky.

It is actually a smaller version of Tom’s original design: https://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/my-best-night-box-design-yet.66867/
