Me again! I must be your most annoying member lol

My tortoise never ever wakes up on his own. I have to wake him up every day, whether it's 9am, midday or 6pm when I'm in from work. I've never seen him just be awake on his own accord.
Once he's awake he's fine, eats well and is really active.
Is this a problem (the waking up) and if so what can i do to help sleep Percy wake up on his own?

Thank you

Is he active once you 'wake' him up? Where's he sleeping?

Perhaps he's too cold? What is the temperature of the place he is sleeping? Maybe it's too dark? Are there obvious cues - temperature and light related - that night is turning to day?

Yeah always very active after five minutes or so. He sleeps inside in his enclosure, buries himself so I can tell if he's woken up beforehand or not. He just never seems to wake up himself and get food or anything unless I pick him up and make him walk about

Perhaps. I don't actually have a thermometer so I don't know the exact temperature but he has his heat/uvb light on a timer so there's always a cue as to night and day. I'll grab a thermometer tomorrow and keep an eye on temperature x

How many hours is the light on, what kind of bulb?

It's set to be on for 14 hours I believe however my tortoise spends most of his time in the garden so only benefits from it morning and evening.
I believe it's an mvb (?) Bulb. I'm so bad at remembering all this (not so) technical stuff. I bought the one that was recommended a lot on here. You probably know the one I mean

my tortoise tells me when she is hungry she looks at her food dish then when she hears my voice looks at me with the cutest eyes its kind of awkward then when she gets what she wants she just turns away and acts like she doesn't know me and sometimes when I look in her enclosure she acts like she's sleeping what that all about?
