I got to go stay the night with him last night. I don't sleep much but boy did he...jerk! JOKING! Well kinda...
About the time I figured I should sleep they came to take him for his X-rays, this means about 2am. We still have yet to hear anything about said X-rays. Either way he has lots of rehab that is needed. I will be setting up a "go fund me" account for him in the next few day to help with the cost of all this. For those of you who don't know what that is, it is an online way to help donate money to his health care bills. As some of you know he just started that new job and lacks having health insurance so we are watching his truck's medical coverage dwindle away. His memory is poor and forgets things like me no longer living with him. It's hard but he is a tough old bird and will pull threw! Thank you for all the love and well wishes!

Well hope your home doing well and having a few :View attachment 141452
This should work if they let you have CLEAR LIQUID DIET One of my friends swears by it. He had a c/spine surgery and was having several beers and white wine the night before saying "but they told me clear liquids were ok until midnight". Sending healing thoughts your way, Ken

Let us all pray that surgery is not needed! I am recovering from 2 recent surgeries (due to broken leg) and my medical bills are enormous! I'm not sure if the hospital over where Ken is does it but most facilities offer financial service to uninsured patients. Ken has a right to be treated regardless of his his medical coverage or financial status. By law they have to treat him just as if he were insured, or privately paying VIP client. As long as hospital gets some minimal sum on regular bases from him they can not do anything to him. His memory maybe this way because he very likely bumped his head, hopefully it's just a "shook up brain" from the impact. It should all get back to normal once the bruises and tissue swelling subside. Keeping my fingers crossed for good xray reports

Thank you Morgan,
Hope the x ray results are good for Ken - we are all constantly thinking of him.

He has recently been educating us about some of the finer points of country music and especially a lovely track called 'Would you lay with me' so maybe John is right - music may help him regain his memory. The only trouble is he may keep the other patients awake by singing!

I hope you are getting some rest too.
Take care
Love and best wishes to your Dad.

Thank you for keeping us updated on Ken. If Ken needs help (perhaps temp rehoming even of his tortoises lets us know). Is Karen still moving out? Wondering about Ava and the cats to, especially his bed buddy feline.

Good morning! Any news on test results? Many docs make their hospital rounds first thing in the morning before starting clinic or surgery. I have employed my family to join in the prayer for Ken's recovery and I'm sure those forum members who believe in power of prayer are doing this same. There is a huge potential in all the positive energy generated by prayer of many people

Just got off the phone with my dad. He didn't know my voice until I told him who I was :-( Still no news from the docs. In the mean time Karen and I are trying to find foster homes for the reptiles. Karen is taking care of the cats and Ava, so no worries there. If you are interested in helping by fostering please email me with what you would be willing to foster. Please know is a foster basis and would have to care for them like my dad would and send them back when my dad can care for them. Thank you for all the well wishes! Just taking everything day by day. Tomorrow Karen gets the truck back, I will post actual picture of it when I get them.

Thank you very much!

Wow! It sounds like poor Ken has had some type of injury to his brain. I'm so sorry! I know it must be very difficult for him and you both. How about test results? CT or MRI of the brain? Spine? Anything else? Any indications of a need for surgical intervention?

I work in medical profession. And I can tell you that if you want information from the doctors don't wait for them to tell you, you go and ask them. The scans were taken and I guarantee they have the results. So whoever is allowed to receive his medical information can request it at any time. I wouldn't be too concerned about his memory just yet. It should improve over time. The body's been through quite a shock and if he has surgery it might get worse again for a while. Hang in there. We are all sending good thoughts his way.
