Hi everyone!
I've been a turtle/tortoise enthusiast since I was little and I'm finally in a position to own one of my own. I live in Chicago so I can't get a species that gets too big but I'd also like something that gets bigger and has brighter markings than a Russian- and those are all I can seem to find available in pet stores!
I was thinking of a red-footed tortoise or box turtle but I'm open to other species and would be willing to adopt or buy. Does anyone have tortoises for me or have suggestions for where to buy them in Chicago?

thanks!

Hi Libby,
Bumping your post. Sorry but I don't know anything about the Chicago market. You may need to look elsewhere and ship from a breeder. Have you looked at Greek Iberas? Full disclosure: I breed them so I'm biased. I think Iberas are way prettier than Russians because they have more definitive markings!

Hope this helps. Feed free to pm me if I can provide more info.

Several members here breed tortoise. Greek, as you already have heard and some very colorful Cherry Headed Redfoot that are more colorful and stay a little smaller than your standard variety.
You would do well to purchase one from an established member here.
