Try Garden State Tortoise. That is where I purchased mine. Chris Leone is fabulous to work with. He is also a member here.

I'm new to this. I live in Rochester NY. Planing to get a baby Hermann tortoise. I was recently search online to find out pet store around me that sale tortoise. And there's very few as I know of. So I plan to buy one online. But many of those website are out of stock. So I just wondering do where can I get one online or local store.
I ordered my Greek from Garden State and am extremely pleased with my purchase. I personally wouldn't purchase a tortoise from a pet store around here and it's very unlikely to find a Hermans in this area. The other option is to wait for the Rexpo reptile show in November and hope someone has Hermans. I went Rexpo in April and didn't see any Hermans there. I think it's worth the wait to order online if you have the patience. Best of luck to you in your quest!

Also....my first tortoise was a Hermanns hatchling from a pet store. When I purchased it, it was in a very dry set up with no access to water. It seemed healthy for about 8 months and then became sick and eventually died. I was heart broken. I would only buy from a breeder so that you know it had a proper start.

I second this, all of it. I am also in Rochester, NY (hello!) And have purchased a set of Hermann's from Garden State Tortoise. Though I have not received then yet as we are still waiting for them to hatch, Chris has been an amazing help and very friendly. If you want local I'd also wait for Rexpo but to my knowledge they don't usually have Hermann's, mostly Sulcatas.

I spent a couple of years in Rochester going to grad school. Three of my tortoises, two russian tortoises and an ambo, came from Rochester Craigslist.
