Howdy Forum Friends,
Just realized I hadn't posted an intro yet, despite my reading the forum for several months now.
I'm from NE Ohio and care for Vladimir Khan, a Russian Tortoise. He's at least 20 years old and we've had him about 2 years now. He's a rescue tortoise. Original owners got divorced and the wife placed Vladi and 2 other Russian tortoises in the attic during the summer for 3 weeks to get back at her husband. They survived fine. Roughly 5 years ago, Vladi burrowed out of his outdoor enclosure and toured Cleveland for a while. Signs were posted throughout the neighborhood. Three months later, a neighbor from several blocks away found Vladi being chewed on by his dog. But except for some superficial shell damage (barely discernible in this pic due to glare), he's just fine. It's been comparatively boring for him, since he moved in with us.
He's in a 2'9"x5' indoor enclosure now. This summer, a larger indoor enclosure is in the works. Due to renting situation, outside isn't an option right now, except for the occasional closely observed walk in the neighbor's weeds.
Thanks for all the resources everyone. It's nice to find a reliable source of info!
