Hello Abi, Tom and Zeus and a very warm welcome to Tortoise Forum.
Your tortoise is pyramided, you need to ensure your humidity and temperatures are right to stop this getting worse in the future.
Have a look at http://www.tortoiseforum.org/thread...or-other-herbivorous-tortoise-species.107734/
and http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/russian-tortoise-care-sheet.80698/
as well as http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/the-end-of-pyramiding.15137/
and http://www.tortoiseforum.org/threads/beginner-mistakes.45180/
for lots of useful information on how to care for Zeus.
Please ask if you have any questions.
Someone is always happy to help.

Hi Abi, and welcome to the Forum!

Here's why humidity is called for: When baby tortoises hatch, they don't stay out in the open because they are prey. So they stay hidden deep under bushes or in the ground in a burrow. These hiding places are more humid than out in the open. The humidity helps the baby's shell to grow smoothly.

Tidgy's Dad has given you some good links to read. The most important one would be the first link.

Very cute little guy you have! What pyramiding means is that his shell is a bit bumpy due to dry conditions (from his previous owner). You can help him grow smoother new growth on his shell with humidity. Which sounds like you're already working on that so good job.

Welcome to the forum!
