Recently, I have been in pursuit of an aldabra. Naturally, the first person I looked over as a breeder was Greg. Which means, I became familiar with nearly every amazing tortoise picture he has ever posted. After exhausting the short list of reputable breeders, I looked into classifieds all over the internet. This morning, I received an email from a known scam artist. I knew right away that she was because I recognized Greg's picture and because of the unrealistically cheap price she quoted me for a pair. Though, if Greg were to offer me that pair in the picture for that price, I'd have Paypal up in the blink of an eye lol.

I thought something about this sounded familiar. I remembered reading something about that name from years ago and found it here. http://www.faunaclassifieds.com/forums/archive/index.php/t-318753.html
It appears this person has been playing these games for a while. Total scamola. I feel for the people that fall for this stuff. Be careful out there!

Have you thought about putting your name on every picture you post? I've noticed a couple people do that to keep their images from being stolen.

Now that I'm aware of how uncommon these little guys are I will have to start requiring proof of life.
~ To my knowledge only two actual sources offer captive USA produced aldabra hatchlings to the public. Any other retail sources are offering imports from probably either the Seychelles or Mauritius commercial farms.

I'm currently in contact with what I assume is either an importer and upstart farm or another scammer. They have claimed that their tortoises all come with a CITE permit, which indicates importer. I've asked for photos, which should help rule out most fakes. If they send me an image used elsewhere on the internet, it'll be simple to find the original. On the other hand, they could really have an aldabra and are simply not going to send it. The prices that they're asking seem legitimate; but they might just be well informed scammers. I'll be sure to share updated results, including their contact information as soon as I'm sure they're legitimate or not. I wish it were easier to get an Aldabra <.<

That didn't take long lol. Just as I posted the last comment, I received a response. Greg, it seems everyone is trying to sell me your tortoises!

Funny part is that he tried to deny it when I called him out. He feigned offense and claimed Greg had falsely used his image. when I linked him to Greg's original photos, he assured me he accidentally uploaded the wrong files. Sure, that isn't at all implausible <.<. He then proceeds to send more images, which came directly from http://www.tortoisesupply.com/baby-aldabra-tortoise-1/ . I called him out on that as well, but have yet to receive additional responses. I'm sure if and when I do, I will have a good laugh. Or who knows, maybe he will convince me to send him money! ;)
