X-mas is in a couple of days and while you still can get it, I highly suggest get the X-mas tree storage bin! If you still keep your tortoise in a glass tank aka vivarium, this would be a huge up grade for them and cost so much less! Ill be getting one myself and getting rid of the old one... started to smell funky! lol... I would love to see you guy's design! Post up what you guys come up with here ^_^v GO TEAM GREEK TORTOISE!

Excellent reminder ... thank you ... let's all run, not walk before or on Dec 26th (sale!) and grab tree storage containers, mega size!

Sometimes, at WalMart they are outside where the garden department is. I think at K-Mart also. Maybe cause of size, or cause the trees are out there. I did not see them at my Target this year. They had the bags instead, but perhaps in other areas. And yes, The Container Store.

They make great containers, because the sides are tall enough. 14", I think.
I like keeping the lid on, but cutting out most of the middle (leave a cross piece or two for security and to hold tube fluorescent lights if you use them). I also spray the outside with white or off white spray paint (made for plastic) to make the sides more opaque.
About 3-7 days after Xmas, places like Walmart sell them during their post Xmas sales; down to about $30. It takes a couple of days for them to lower the price.
It's coming up!

Since Christmas tree bags have come out, no one around me sells these anymore unfortunately.

Our Walmart has them on sale during the week after Xmas. At least they have for the past 2 years; last year they were out in the garden section with other Xmas stuff on sale.
I haven't looked to see if they are in the stores now, but after Xmas is definitely a better time to buy them.

My little Red Foot lives in this http://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/r...o-storage-tote-189l-0423656p.html#.VJmjwl4C2A
It's PERFECT. Holds heat and humidity in like a dream and it's tall enough that I can have my lights hung inside and have the lid on with no issues. (I have small lights and they are on a thermostat to not get too hot).
It's big enough for her and is a great temporary indoor home for the wee ones :)

If anyone has a Farm and Fleet, they sell them. I got one for my baby Russian. I'll be keeping the lid on and cutting holes for lights, I'm excited to see how it works with humidity. If not, I have a back up viv. :)
