I was thinking a section of my saltwater systems refugium would be cool, but if you cannot acclimate them to a different salinity I will make them their own digs.

Some people have major issues.
There IS risk in feeding ANY animal with claws or teeth, not to mention the terrifying and very painfull death for the prey!!!:(
Also I have owned a few snakes over the years, and the only ones that even tried to bite me were live fed.

Feeding live not only is cruel and disgusting, it is a danger to the animal being fed.
Live prey should only be used for rehabilitating wild animals.
(I am surprised to be the first to point out pre-kill as an option on a reptile forum!)
I would think the anesthesia would be really hard on tortoises, reptiles in general, I know it is for birds, and they are somewhat similar. (as we all know from jurasic park)
