They have been gently cleaned and are back in the incubator. Fingers crossed (for several months) that at least a few are fertile and hatch! Thank you!
Our oldest female redfoot laid her first clutch with more than 1 egg on the 17th of this month. She laid 10 but smashed 1 of them open. I saw her laying so as soon as she was done I tried cleaning off the eggs the best I could since the smashed egg got on the others. I guess I didn't do a good...
On the floor we have a tarp then we used a shower curtain to line the inside. The set came with 2 raised beds and the top greenhouse cover. The beds clip together so we put the shower curtain in between the 2 to hold it in place.
Our 2 babies tend to spend a good amount of time in their hide but they definitely know when it's food time. We have had them about 2 1/2 months and they hatched the beginning of May. It took about a week for them to adjust and then I would find them exploring some.
Hello,
We would like to adopt/purchase a redfoot tortoise or two. We do have one, named Peso, who we have had for 4 years. We are open to adults or babies and we live on VA.
Thank you!
The garden beds I was looking at are 4x4. We only have 1 redfoot at the moment (she is about 7 inches) but are looking to get another. I was thinking it would be too small but it's a great idea with the greenhouse part.
I have seen some use the lifetime double garden bed with the vinyl enclosure for an indoor enclosure and I am wondering if that is suitable for 2 redfoots or do I need to do something bigger?
