Love learning about animals of any kind. Have had pets all my life.
Currently, 1 dog, 2 cats, 1 lovebird, 1 prehensile tailed skink (since 2000), 2 red foots - Tomas and Kachiri, and our newest addition, Tut, a veiled chameleon, who is 3 1/2 years old, and was given to us last month.
Never thought I'd own a reptile, then for some inexplicable reason, started wanting a tortoise I saw at PetSmart. That's when I ended up buying my skink 12 years ago, because the ornate wood tortoise I had my eye on was gone when I went to buy him/her. Our skink is great. Love him so much!
Fast forward several years. Urge to own tortoise returns with determination. Getting two red foots for my birthday three and a half years ago results in full-scale herp fever! Fortunately, my husband shares my enthusiasm. We browse the organic vegetable and fruit for choice picks for the herps. I've researched and learned what native plants are edible and mow around them so I can pick fresh greens for them.
