I'm going to pick it up next week!! It's a 4 hour drive (one way) for me. I was hoping they could meet me half way or so I didn't have to go through the city. one of the downfalls about living in the boonies!
I can't believe how big they've gotten!! I haven't been on TF for so long, I remember when you first got them!! Can't wait to see the foster. Will it be a Leopard?
I was just told the hatch date was Jan 27th. So it's 9 weeks old now... There's also a "dent" on the front scutes. He said it came out like that, dented n cone shaped.
I am looking at getting a Leo hatchling from someone local. This guy is listed at a reduced price because of his "odd" shaped shell. I've asked the hatch date. But will the "cone" shape flatten out? Is this something to be concerned about in the long run? He's told me that the hatchling is very...
for those of you who have larger torts- are the pyramids hollow sounding? I have a Redfood that I acquired 2 weeks ago that was kept in improper conditions and is pyramided terribly. I tapped her shell, more out of sheer curiosity, and each of her pyramids sounds hollow. My russians sound dense...
I don't think they're mites. I used to get super tiny white bugs in is food and under his water dish. Someone told me they're harmless and more of a nuisance but you can get rolly polly bugs to keep in the enclosure and they'll eat the bugs?
There's a magazine called The Gardener or something like that and I'm preeetyyyyy sure they sell kits for raised beds (what this is intended for) that are made out of this same plastic siding. Not sure about a top though but that would be fairly easy to accomplish with PVC pipe and plastic covering.
Still progressing? If you find you're still having trouble keeping heat and humidity up, I've covered two thirds of my enclosure in press n seal seran wrap to help keep heat in.
Do you have an iPhone or iPad? Download garden compass. Take photos of the plants, email them in, they will ID the plant then you go to TTT to look it up.... Takes about a day for them to get back to you with the plant ID.
He does what he would do in nature... Digs himself a hole. In the winter I'll put a hard top on half to keep the lovely WA rain off, and a light inside to keep him warmer.
