They're lovely! You might be surprised by how much the darker one's coloring changes. My gulfie started out looking like that, and the tan/gold markings on his/her shell have really brightened and widened while keeping the dark base. It's really lovely. I'll see if I can find a picture.
Thanks for the replies! I think I will keep them up this year and possibly look at controlled hibernation next year, like in a fridge or basement. I still have all my lighting and whatnot, just need to get them a bigger tote for the winter.
