Hi all, Just woundering how everyone measure the temperature of there bulbs? Do you use a thermometer and do you put it directly under the bulb etc? I have a 160 watt mega ray bulb and a deep dome zoo med lamp. Just woundering how to check the temp and what distance it should be etc Thanks

Oh I shall get a plant then, I'm stating to grown my own food for him but like anything it is taking its time so I'm trying to find diffrent foods from him to eat so he dose not get bored eating the same thing, is there anything else you recommend that he will like to eat?

Oh god I didn't know that, the pot is from a nursery from my work and the Gardner told me that there was no pester-sides used on the plant and was planted into and organic compost, should I wait for it to bloom before I feed it to him? Also I was told aloe Vera is good to feed is that true?

Oh brill thanks for letting me know, when I got him his beak was over grown I have taken him to the vets to get it trimmed but he wudnt put his head out so his beak is still abit over grown, is there anyway of getting it trimmed or him doing it himself? I have put his food on slate to hopefully...

That's his home and a pic of the soil, it's like sandy soil with white bits in it I think it's small bits of gravel, iv seen pictures and from what iv seen he looks like a Herm tort is there much diffrence between them?

Ye I got him like that, in his home he is on tortoise terrain from pets at home and I spay that with water to keep the dust down

Hi all Might be a stupid question but my Herm tortoise has a bumpy shell, just woundering if it was ment to be smooth or is bumpiness normal? Jac not had him for long so it's all still quite new to me :)

Hello, It's when you 1st go and pick him up he hisses at you, once you have him he just try's to get away, he will eat from you're hand so he does not hate all human contact I'd imagine
