Tater Salad

Found my red footed tortoise while hiking in an area where he is not a native species. As I examined it, it crawled right up onto my shoe and seemed to try climbing up my leg. I thought this quite peculiar and I decided I take it home assuming it was previously someone else's pet. I will gladly accept any help anyone can give.
