Part of my job is going out to a bunch of farmer's markets and there is a great selection of fresh, organic leafy greens to feed my Russian available. Today I bought a salad mix and it included dill in it...does anybody know if this is safe to feed my tort? The Tortoise Table seemed a bit unsure...
Has anybody had any experience with this or advice on how to prevent this??
I have about a year a russian tortoise living in an enclosure which is basically a two plastic bins attached to each other and is open topped. Recently my cat decided that this would be her new litter box!! It seems that...
I am working on designing my baby Russian's outdoor enclosure for this spring/summer. I plan on going for a simple rectangular box on the side of my shed with a hardware cloth top frame to avoid predators. I haven't officially measured it but it should be about 6' x 3'.

Currently (because it's winter and snowy where I live) my Russian is living off of grocery store greens. I know he needs more variety, so I am looking into Carolina Pet Supply's TNT supplement. Does anyone suggest adding on the probiotics? My tort is less than a year old, not sure if that...
Update: I began feeding my baby russian a mix of spring mix, dandelions, cactus, and wheat grass. He LOVED the wheat grass, however, I ended up having to stop feeding it to him because he wouldn't fully digest them. Stringy pieces would get stuck and I'd have to pull them out. It's been 2 weeks...
Where I live there isn't much weeds or plants growing during the winter. Would you recommend feeding spring mix instead? Or anything else that can be found in a grocery store?
At my local grocery store there is a variety of fresh organic leafy veggies to choose from. Can a Russian tortoise safely eat Broccoli Rabe? It is also called Rapini. Tortoise Table does not list it anywhere to my knowledge.

There are also mustard greens...
